IBADAN, OYO STATE – Fear and panic have gripped residents of Aba Alfa community in the Boluwaji area of Ibadan following the gruesome ritual murder of a woman identified as Iya Dupe.
Reports indicate that the victim was brutally attacked overnight in her own residence, with her body tragically mutilated and vital organs, including her head and breasts, removed by the suspected ritualists.
The Chilling Discovery
Eyewitness accounts revealed that Iya Dupe, who had been slightly unwell, stepped out around 9 p.m. on Tuesday to purchase bread but never returned. Her concerned neighbours, upon checking her home on Wednesday morning, were met with the horrific sight of her dismembered body.
Community Cries Out for Justice
The shocking incident has reignited serious concerns among Ibadan residents over the disturbing rise in ritual-related killings, despite assurances of enhanced security across the state.
Community leaders swiftly informed both the Oyo State Police Command and the Amotekun Corps about the dastardly act. They are now urgently calling on the state government and security agencies to significantly step up patrols and commit to bringing the perpetrators of this heinous crime to book.
